Sounds like something has got into the leg (small stone, grit or something?). Try twisting with a pulling force at the same time and see if you can shift it. Hopefully it will come free, albeit it may mark the leg but that wont hurt

Let me know how it goes.

Pleasure viewing you gallery Phil and i'am happy I have had the privilege to meet you in person tonight here in North West Wales, I like myself love the outdoors and I know trying to capture those moments as and when they come about is a challenge , I fully enjoyed your gallery's especially the Eruption, I hope you manage to get up to Scotland and I look forward to viewing your work in the future.

Hi Adrian

Pleased to help where I can.

One update to my blog article is that I replaced the Mini-Trekker in the Rucksack with a cut-down Photo Trekker as it provided more gear storage and fitted the Rucksack better - the whole things works much better now; almost perfect :-)

So a good option is the Osprey, fitted to your size, and then add a Photo Trekker to it. Not a new one, get one off eBay and then cut off all the outside bits leaving just the case and internals - this just then inserts to the Rucksack and when you need access, unzip the panel access and lift the Photo Trekker lid and access your stuff. Simple !

This is a great solution as it allows me to carry all my gear and waterproofs, food, drink, tripod, etc.

Not sure you will gain anything by buying F-Stop inserts and the F-Stop packs seem to be sized for 18.5" torsos - my torso is 22.5" and I am 6' 2" !

Happy to have a chat if you need to, but at the moment I am shooting on the Isle of Eigg and don't have any mobile coverage.

Hi Phil, I found your website via a link from Garry Brannigan whose courses I've attended. I was very interested in your blog article about backpacks for photography and wouldn't mind having a quick chat with you about your experience with your Osprey/Mini Trekker setup. I've also been researching options and have come across an interesting range of packs from a US company called F-Stop http://www.fstopgear.com These are proper backpacks but with a range of camera carrying inserts which are accessible through the back panel of the rucsac. A good option might be to get an Osprey to be able to get the correct size/ fit and team it with one of the F-Stop inserts? The F-Stop packs look good but I'd be nervous about ordering without having had chance to try for size.
I'd be grateful for your thoughts. Kind regards, Adrian.
