About

“In late 2009, I started my journey of developing my understanding of Landscape Photography as an art form, not simply as a documentary recording of a scene. Prior to this, there was something missing from my pictures and I often felt I was just creating rushed facsimiles of scenes and not capturing what I felt, and how I saw, a landscape.

To me, this type of photography is addictive; there is always something to learn – not just the techniques, not just the way to compose, nor how to handle the light; but learning how to feel an image and how to record your feelings along with the beauty of the light and the landscape.

There is something amazing about being able to capture the emotion and uniqueness of a single moment in the landscape and having the skill to be able to play that back to a viewer through a two-dimensional image.  Then there is the joy of sharing that moment; every time someone hangs one of my images on their wall or an image is published in a magazine, I know the hard work, the early mornings and late evenings, have been worth it.”
